The zesty buffalo sauce is a tangy and spicy sauce made with aged cayenne peppers, garlic, vinegar, and other spices. It’s perfect for dipping chicken sandwiches, nuggets, strips, fries, onion rings, and vegetables, adding a bold flavor and a little bit of spice to any meal.

  1. Barbeque Sauce

Ranking 5 Best Dipping Sauces

Having tasted all of Chick-fil-A’s dipping sauces and scoured through various forums, I’m quite excited to share my personal rankings of the eight sauces.

Chick-Fil-A (The Best)

Chick-fil-A sauce is undoubtedly a fan favorite, and it’s not hard to see why. A blend of ranch, barbecue, and honey mustard sauces gives it a tangy yet smoky flavor that’s both addictive and satisfying. What truly makes this sauce the best in my book is the creamy and sweet taste, coupled with a bit of vinegar tang that’s a perfect balance of flavors.

But the versatility of this sauce is what makes it number one. It can be used as a salad dressing, goes well with eggs and celery, and even as a dipping sauce for bread. So, you can see why this Chick-fil-A sauce is a must-try for anyone who hasn’t had the pleasure of experiencing it yet.

Honey Mustard

Chick-fil-A’s honey mustard sauce may not be the best, but it certainly has earned its second-place spot. If you’re looking for a unique balance of sweetness and pungency, this sauce is definitely worth a try. Its slightly more savory flavor and tanginess make it a pleasant surprise, especially when paired with the restaurant’s fried chicken.

The sauce’s thin consistency also makes it just as versatile, as it can be used not only as a dip for nuggets and waffle fries but also as a salad dressing. Despite its somewhat unappealing appearance, the balance of vinegar, spices, and sweet honey in the sauce is a win. This unique combination sets it apart from other honey mustards and adds a nice contrast to the delicate sweetness of the nuggets.

However, if you prefer a honey mustard that leans more towards the honey side, you might be a bit disappointed. The sauce lacks the strong mustard kick that some may be looking for, and its appearance leaves much to be desired. But if you’re willing to look past these minor flaws, Chick-fil-A’s honey mustard sauce is definitely worth a try.

Honey Mustard Chicken Sandwich

Polynesian

Polynesian sauce is undeniably one of my favorite sauces at Chick-fil-A. Its perfect balance of sugar, vinegar, and spices creates a sweet and straightforward flavor that makes it a favorite among children and adults alike.

Its thicker texture sets it apart from other Chick-fil-A sauces, making it just perfect for dipping without being too runny. It’s also versatile enough to be used on various fast food and home-cooked meals, from crockpot dishes to pizza dip.

However, as much as you love the Polynesian sauce, you can’t ignore the fact that it’s incredibly sweet and syrupy. While this is a major selling point for many, it can be a bit too much for some people. This is why, despite its delicious flavor and versatility, the Polynesian sauce falls into the third spot on our list of favorite Chick-fil-A sauces.

Barbeque Sauce

You’d think that out of all the sauces at Chick-fil-A, barbecue sauce would rank higher, but sadly, it just falls short of the others. It’s got that classic combination of tomato paste, brown sugar, and vinegar, along with a mix of spices and natural smoke flavors, giving it that authentic taste. And it’s definitely “sweet and tangy,” making it a great dip for chicken and fries. But it’s just not quite as good as the top three.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not too sweet and has good spreadability, making it a solid choice for both nuggets and fries. It’s great with pretty much anything on Chick-fil-A’s menu, and the rich brown sugar and fruity pineapple juice concentrate give it a perfect balance of sweetness, smokiness, and spiciness. But let’s be real, it’s definitely on the sweet side and lacks that spicy kick you might be looking for in a traditional barbecue sauce.

So, while it’s still a good sauce, it just doesn’t quite stack up to the top three. But hey, at least you know you can count on it to add some flavor to your meal at Chick-fil-A.

Honey Roasted BBQ Sauce

The honey roasted BBQ sauce at Chick-fil-A is a unique and delicious option that made it to the top 5 but fell under the others. With its smoky and spicy blend of honey mustard and classic barbecue sauce, it strikes a nice balance of sweetness and pungency. It pairs well with grilled chicken sandwiches and pretty much anything else on the menu.

However, when it comes to ranking the sauces, it falls in at number five for a few reasons. Its thin consistency can make it a bit messier to eat compared to some of the thicker options. Also, the mustard-forward flavor might not be to everyone’s liking.

Despite this, the honey roasted BBQ sauce is still a very viable option that pairs well with a variety of menu items. It has a long history of complementing fried chicken, salads, fries, nuggets, and more. It’s just a solid choice, especially if you enjoy a smoky, mustardy kick.
